The story behind Danny Gokey's 'Tell Your Heart To Beat Again' will truly touch you. What a powerful message of hope and love for our Lord. WOW! Now I don't know how true the background story that Danny recounts really is as there has been some controversy surrounding it. However I am not here to judge that. I do agree with the general premise that the song gives: that of the need to heal and move out of our past. This song touched me because the story given behind the song was so similar to an experience that I went through over 19 years ago. My oldest son was just 2 years old at the time, and two weeks prior I had given birth to my daughter. At my postpartum check-up ,y doctor discovered the reason for all my pain throughout the entire pregnancy. I had complained of "not feeling right," of "being in pain constantly," and my doctor had even gone as far as to say that it was "all in my head" and wrote a script for me...

Robert Veninga Funny thing about human nature...when we are well, we accept our Higher Power with few second thoughts. However, when some kind of tragedy strikes, some crisis, so many of us seem to lose our faith, at least for a while. We ask, "Why me? when our health takes a turn for the worse....or "Why did this happen to us?" I know I went through a period when I was questioning God and His Divine Will for my life. I honestly could not see illness as part of it. After all, I had spent so much of my life taking care of this temple. I had eaten right. I was in tip-top shape having run cross country all through college, and continued taking care of my body with martial arts and running after college, and eating right. Then my body revolts!!!! I am sure you can imagine the frustration I felt when first my lungs start...

I am sure that there would be few people who would say that they were never embarrassed by their parents when they were growing up or by some other member of the family. Even celebrities are not immune to embarrassment brought on by family or ancestry. Ben Affleck has admitted he was “embarrassed” about a slave-owning ancestor and says that’s why he lobbied television chiefs to hide his story in a documentary about his heritage. You can’t choose family. Those are the people that God puts around you, to help you and to guide you. That’s why family means everything to me; family can’t be replaced. The point is, we can’t run away...
